Morris Great Knife engine selection???
Just finishing my Great Knife and need to come up with an engine for it. Airframe weight with 7 HS-605's, 1 HS-425 and 1600ma NIMH is slightly more than 11 lbs. Got an ST 2300 and a MDS 1.48 on hand but I don't think they have quite enough power for this bird. Can get a MDS 2.18 relatively cheap but design of airframe will not alow use of Pitts style muffler and nobody I know of makes a sport muffler for the MDS 1.48/2.18 or Moki 2.10. Also considering an OS BGX 3500 (overkill?) What would be a good motor/prop combination for a 14 lb profile funfly?

[8D] I had a BGX-1 on mine until I crashed it.It was a great combo. The BGX takes awhile to break in.It would hang on the prop and pull out pretty good.Any questions contact me. Dave "[email protected]"

A fellow club member has a BGX and it runs awesome, an advantage is you don't need nitro at all (cheaper fuel)
He runs it on five percent and its a beauty
