Default Guillow's CL help

Hi everybody
My next project is the Guillow's FW 190, and I may make it a CL model. The problem is, I have never seen a CL model, and I was wondering if anyone had any detail photos of the control system ( lead out wires, bell crank, etc.)
Thanks a lot everyone

Driver:

Strongly suggest you get a conventional control line kit and build it to learn about the systems in the plane.

When you start with a Guillow's kit you are having to do a double conversion. First from rubber to glow, then from free flight to u/c. Either would be enough to take on as a first (or early) project.

I'm not saying to discard the idea, just get more experience before tackling such a job.

Bill.

Ok, I think I'll take your advice. Whithout seeing an actual plane, it's hard for me to visualize off the plans.
Thanks for the heads up

Also decide how big you want the model

look at the www.brodak.com

if you get a 1/2a powered model (.049 cubic inch) brodak has alot of choices and has all of the hardware.

If you go the bigger models .15 powered and up brodak also has lots of choices. Bill is right, build from a CL kit, highly suggest a profile for your first one and get a local CL pilot to help you set it up properly and test fly it.

Good luck!

Hey Driver, CL isn't always as easy to fly as you may think. The lines mean that you're flying in a rather close and confined area. Not the usual "3 mistakes high" as you may be used to with RC. Take the advice and choose a definite TRAINER as your first model. Check this forum. There's been a few trainer threads running here already with great advice.

And if I may offer my own 1/2A trainer option? The Cadet at......

And here's a page with links to documents that pretty much totally explains Control line systems completley and everything that you may think to ask...

Good luck with your control line experience.

I don't disagree with the advice to start with a trainer, but thought you might be interested in this thread as well. I just posted a pic of my Guillow's FW190.
