Charging NiCads
If I charge a Nicad Battery pack the day before a flight, but then the next day I want to top off the battery pack just before the flight, Will that screw up the Nicads Memory??? (In other words I'm charging an already charged battery)[8D]

RE: Charging NiCads
Hi,
There isn't such a thing as "memory" in current Nicad batteries. Don't worry about recharging without discharging. "Voltage depression" is real but only happens when you leave your battery on a non-peak type charger and let it overcharge too much. Nicads are really hardy and can handle a little overcharge though.
If you have a peak charger, your batteries will be absolutely fine if you "re-peak" them before a flight. Especially if it has been a day since you charged them because they loose I think about 10-20% of their charge the first day.

RE: Charging NiCads
I didn't realize you could still get NiCads.
I thought they were abandoned in favor of NiMH, these days.
Since, they sell for about the same cost, I can't really see why anyone would buy NiCads, anymore.

RE: Charging NiCads
The reason NiCds are still used is because of the higher discharge current available, the higher under load voltage and higher charge current compared to NiMH. The worst are Lithiums which can't handle discharge currents anywhere near that of NiCds. Each type has it's place.
