It's a DA-150, but not sure about the prop. It looks like a Mejzlik, but I don't know the size. I took a picture of them doing something with duct tape and epoxy, which I wasn't too sure about...

BTW, are you sure it's a Yak? I didn't ask, but it sure looks more like a Sukhoi to me based on the turtledeck and rudder shape...

They made mention of the fact that it was NOT a Sukhoi on Friday--it seems as though a lot of people thought the same thing---the tape and epoxy was to fix the cowl that came loose TWICE in flight.

Are Fiberclassics advertising this as a Yak 55? As it sure looks like a 54.....strange.

Isn't the Yak 54 a two seater .....canopy shaped like the SU31..
Copied might be more appropriate term...I know that this plane flew VERY VERY well....Which I guess it could in capable hands..But was impressive.......Now if they could get the size down a little to something I could get into our field

I have supplied two links. The first one is a 54 and the second is a 55.
Some versions on the 54s were two place.

Default Yak 55 SP

This is the YAK 55 SP. It is a revamp of the 55M. Added more power and a turtledeck. Then they added composite surfaces with a bit more area and a different shape.

Regards
Bill
