RE: t-maxx aftershock
i found this: http://www.rctricks.com/Merchant2/me...y_Code=Traxxas
They say that it does reduce roll. So it sounds good. If I were to buy it, I would put one in the front and back because i think that one in the front won't work if the back end is rolling over!

This design has been out for a while, most people don't bother with it as it adds a ton of unecessary weight. It's much easier to slightly lower the truck and/or use stiffer springs to keep the truck level while cornering (cheaper too). I would highly recommend going to [link=http://www.fullforcerc.com/sway_bars.htm]fullforceRC[/link] and checking out their new sway bars. Their old style sway bars work great but the new one's are sweet and add little weight compared to the Aftershocks.

This part has been out for a little over a year and we have sold thousands of them!! (And have had nothing but positive comments from all who have installed them on their trucks) It does not function as a sway bar. A sway bar ties the front suspension "together" and makes it "rigid" causing off-road use to be nearly impossible to drive or control. The AfterShock ties the front end together, but does something entirely different. It allows you to maintain control of the vehicle through rough terrain by forcing the wheels to stay down, as one wheel travels upward, the shock forces the opposite wheel to maintain contact with the ground. Changing the springs to stiffer springs will benefit the ride on the straight portions of the track... but it will not eliminate the roll experienced through the turns. Anybody who has ever driven a Maxx knows that it is a "3 wheel drive" truck through any turn... One wheel is always in the air. Springs can not correct that, only the AfterShock will force that wheel to stay on the ground. By forcing that wheel to stay on the ground, you accomplish several things. First... Having 4 wheels power you through a turn will allow you to maintain a higher speed with more control. Second... it will keep the center of gravity lower, thus reducing the chance for a roll-over.
As far as the comment on weight goes... the AfterShock weighs less than 3 oz. In a truck that weighs anywhere from 12 to 17 pounds... 3 oz will have no impact.
Don't get me wrong... a sway bar is a great thing for an "on-road" vehicle. But it is a self-defeating item on any off-road vehicle.
We are always happy to answer any questions you may have in regards to any of our product line. You can call us Toll Free at 1-866-4-RCTRIX, or you can e-mail us at [email protected]
The only request we have ever made is that people who have not tried the AfterShock, make it known that they have never tried it, and that their comments are not based on any facts... but based on their own personal opinions and beliefs. We are all entitled to our opinions, but opinions not based on facts can often times be wrong.
I don't know if RC Universe will kill this part of the thread... I guess I'll find out...
If you want the AfterShock, give us a call and tell the salesperson that you read about the AfterShock on RC Universe, and we will give you 20% off the purchase of up to 2 AfterShock systems. (You have to call the order in.... the internet system will not permit you to take any discounts.)

RE: t-maxx aftershock
Now that's some enthusiasm
My Maxx proudly weighs a shade over 7½ lbs. with the new FullForce RC sway bar system in back. Gosh... 3 oz. is like adding the weight of a second five-cell hump pack. So is that 3 oz for one set or front and back?
Not knockin' it, I bet it makes for a nice plush ride. Our track is just too competitive for that much extra weight hanging way up there.
