Does anyone have a diagram of how you make a wing rib?

You just need a template for the rib you need to make then cutt it out of a balsa sheet. What plane are you making this rib for?

It would depend on the reason you're making one...

Are you designing a plane that you want to build from scratch?

Are you trying to make a rib to fix a broken one?

Etc.

Really, the shape of the rib will depend on the airfoil you want or have. Flat bottom, semi symmetrical, symmetrical, under-cambered, Eppler, Clark Y....

Are you talking about actually making the ribs or plotting an airfoil? If you're making tapered ribs, then the easiest way is to make a root template and tip template and sandwich ribs between them and carve and sand to shape. More to it than that, but it's long winded.

If you're making constant chord ribs then you can stack your blanks and use a band saw or scroll saw or do what I do and cut them out individually using a template.

The same gust comes through here as well. Strange meterological phenomenon. Also frequent.[]

Ribs for the cub will be much simpler than for a Spitfire or some such with no two alike[8D]
