twisted dogbones?
In the process of tearing down the front end for repairs to the bulkhead I noticed that the dog bones to the front wheels are twisted out of alignment, I mean the pins are not aligned, the shaft is not bent.. Is this the way they come or is this a bad sign. I also notice wear on the axle and gear box where the dog bone contacts it. Is this a part that wears out regularly or is there something wrong here? I'm a newbie just asking questions to learn, so any input is appreciated.
Thanks

RE: twisted dogbones?
This is actually normal for the Savage especially if you don't have the upgraded dogbones. If they are black you have the old ones and they will bend super easy. If they are the chrome heavy duty dogbones and they are still twisting...I would say maybe your slipper clutch is a little too tight and there is a little too much wear. It's good to have spares they aren't very expensive. The dogbone cups will wear out in time it's good to have some spares of those as well. I believe they make heavy duty versions now.
