Rule #1: Nothing associated with engine and ignition (kill switch, ignition battery and switch) within 10" of ANYTHING associated with the radio system.
This includes antenna, batteries, power switches, servos, receiver, servo leads, anything!
Rule #2: Refer to Rule #1.

Make sure you are using resistor type spark plugs, check the numbers on the plug, there should be an "R" present in that number, like bosch- WSR6F or Champion R7Y etc.

Are you using a FM or PCM receiver? One person at the field had the some problem, changed to a PCM receiver and is now very happy.

I would say that the noise is still there but just being masked.
If it is bad using PPM it will be bad with PCM

Guistware is correct, changing to PCM just is masking the problem. It is best to find the source of the interferance and then change to PCM or you may be just delaying a more serious problem. Some things to check is to make sure you are not using a metal throttle push rod or cable, if flying wires are being used make sure there is no metal to metal joints that can be vibrating, check routing of the Rx antenna to make sure it is clear of other wiring.
