Jet Radio Pool
#8
RE: Jet Radio Pool
Well...I have been a JR man since 1980 ( Apollo radio ) and use the 10sx11 in both helis and jets BUT honestly I have been disappointed the last couple of years with the limited programming capability of the 10 and high rate of failure amongst digital servos and gyros.I
have just put my name on the list for one of the new Multiplex radios.

RE: Jet Radio Pool
so for a jet or heli you wouldn't recommend using a jr Gyro or there digital servos.. So what do you recomment i use for that stuff Futuaba or Hitec

RE: Jet Radio Pool
Nope...I did not say that, as JR is what I currently use. I just think there MAY a better system
now:
Lets say:
Multiplex 12 channel TX
Multiplex RX
Duralight Power Box with safety switch and lithium battery 2 pack
Mix of metal / nylon geared servos / digital / analog as required for the intended
application
22 guage extensions
Futaba gyro ( JR has been less than stellar as of late in the heli dept. )
Every manufacturer ( Futaba, JR, Multiplex, Airtronics ) has something that
just is that little better than the competitors. Do your research and choose those
components that would work best for your particular application whether that be a
jet, scale, heli whatever. I have chosen the above for my new KingCat project
because I feel they are the best components ( RELIABILITY, FLEXABILITY )
currently available.
Note: No arguments here...just my personal opinion.

Multiplex 4000. 12 fully equal channels and programmability that simply buries Futaba and JR.

RE: Jet Radio Pool
Actually no.....if you were to attend the majority of jet events in the U.S. you would clearly see that JR has the numbers advantage. This is primarly due to its use amongst the major airframe manufactures ( thus they show the particular servo in their instructions ) and the JR 10 has at least two extra channels that can be used over the Futaba ZAP. Now don't get me wrong...the Futaba 9 has much more programming capability than the JR10 but it lacks that all important need jet guys require. Also keep in mind that this poll is reallllly small.

RE: Jet Radio Pool
Stig, not in the past at all. The RF link that I have with the MPX Profi and the 12 channel IPD receiver is un-real. It blows away any range that I have ever had with JR/Futaba. Gives me tons of piece of mind. Plus I have 12 fully independent and proportional channels with the IPD fail safe. I have a new Royal Evo 12 that I have not had a chance to really use yet, but it promises to have just as good an RF link. Only draw back is that it's programming is somewhat less capable than the Profi 4000, but it still should be quite adequate for any thing I will ever need to do in a jet!

RE: Jet Radio Pool
Hi Eric, the price is right around $980.00 + plus whatever accessories you'd want to add, by the time I was done building mine came out to be right at $1300.00
Call Modellbau at (352) 216-2344
They'll be at Florida Jets with a nice booth, they're located here in Florida and they service them all year round.

That's already in the past, now that we have the Graupner/JR MX-22.
