Best 50cc Engine
I am ready to move to gas fuel and would like to a good gas engine about 50cc. I am sure my list of mfg's is not complete so please let me know who I forgot.

RE: Best 50cc Engine
You left out ZDZ. You will find that there is not A best engine, any more than there is a best airplane. The application is critical - a Corsair may need a short, relatively heavy engine with side intake and side exhaust where a P-51 needs a light rear intake rear exhaust. Of course, price can also be a consideration. Whatcha thinking about?

A I hate fuji, impossible to hand start
B Zenoha doesn't make a 50 (45 or 62?)
c I have a BME 50 on my extra and runs incredible
D DA and brison have great engines, but the Da is a little pricey
E The 3w's run great but are heavy
F I also hate us, these size engines need to have electronic ignition

RE: Best 50cc Engine
Never owned a 50cc gas motor, friend is running a BME 50 and it runs like a champ. From what I hear and read on RCU, that DA 50 seems to be the hot ticket for all out performance. If BME would get the 55X out and running that would probably have to be the best 50-60cc motor heh.
ZDZ 50 and DA 50 have rear intake carbs making them somewhat harder to install.
Zenoah and Fuji are very very overweight for a 3D aerobatic plane and dont produce the power that a BME, ZDZ, DA will.
Brison I havent heard much about other then its a good running motor, and 3W, well I will leave that up to you guys lol

The rear intake carbs really are not a problem, you just have to approach the install differently. I also believe a rear mount carb gives a little smoother performance.
I have some pictures of a zdz 60 install on the wild hare forum that shows an easy approach.
Keep flyin'

Best?
There is more difference in howyou do YOUR setup and operation of the engine ----than there is in design differences, between most of the engines.
A simple rre engineered industrial engine can be an absolute joy --
Special built model engines typically produce more power at less weight .
Not all - but the better ones do.
My comments are based on running various Zenoah re dos and the current ZDZ50NG and DA 50 engines.
The latter two , really are improvements in the state of the art.
Bottom line: anybody can quickly screw up any of em.
