It was in the Graupner booth, so I would take it as an official Jetcat (factory) showing... Not a lot of info to go with it.
Turboprop gas generator core looked pretty much the same as the p-60.

Appeared to be 'tooled and engineered'.

Guy's

The Turbo Prop is JetCat's official offering, using the new P 60 as the generator.
The Raven is Graupners official paring, it will be offered in two packages, as a "kit" ARTC nearly finished ready to cover surfaces made like the HotSpot wings, but pre hinged.
Also as a ARF, covered surfaces and Red Epoxy fuselage, both kits include all accessories, like the carbon spinner.
The Turbo prop is going through final testing as we speak-(You know what I mean!)

It will be available from April this year (German April!)

Dave Wilshere

So how many months in a German April? Hopefully less than the P70's June.

SPT5 Turbo Prop is about 4295 Euros less VAT or about $5,500.00 The P60 is 1995 Euros less VAT. So if the Euros are 1.3 to the $ by the time that German April comes around, they will sell for $2,595.00. Hopefully less!

Not enough band width for video, sorry guys.

Very cool Bob! Has anyone flown a turbo-prop at a USA Jet event? Is it considered OK (I would think so)?

Hi Mark:

I wouldn't like big prop planes flying at Jet events. A Turbo Raven is not a Jet.

I'm such a purest!

Hey Don,

I think your code book is a little out of date. What "German April" really means is "possibly someday, maybe another day, but definitely not any American day"

Guy's

This could get silly with everyone taking a stab!
My German April comes from years of dealing with German companies, it could mean April, May, June...but there is also an Italian "April" (different from German-earlier, around 1st week in May!) American "April" (about mid way through May!) this could go on and on...but I shouldn't! Different companies we deal with have different ideas, as always the sale men want you to order it so will say any thing to get your order, the Boss of the comany hope it will be ready on time as it brings in the money from the developement costs...the only guy who really knows when it will be released is the guy putting it in the box ready to ship!!

All I can say in the Turbo prop will be in Europe before the US, probably the P60 too. This makes sence as the final "customer" testing will be close to home and easier to deal with any hick ups. The Turbo prop is still fairly new and hasn't been in "mass" production before.
The products shown at Nurnberg by Graupner are "to be released during the following year" No promises exactly when, then potential customers won't be upset by late deliverys.
It will be ready when it's ready...simple

Hi Bob,
what is the thrust range of the P-60, 8 lbs or is it in the 12-14lb range?

Chris:

Although thousands of miles away from "home" we are testing the P60 in the USA and it is making 13.5 Lbs of thrust. The throttle response is great! The size is a little smaller than the RAM 500, P60 = 83mm in diameter. JetCat USA has a 100 P60s currently on order and I was hoping to announce the release date when the P60s were ready, not before.

Dave:

"It will be ready when it's ready...simple" Then why did you say they will be available in April. Are you the one putting them in the box? We're being silly because we know better than to announce a date without being officially notified by our company.

Here is my statment: Nice engine! But if you want an engine with exactly the same size, nearly same power at much lower rpm (160k / 175k) lower weight, high quality (made in germany) very good performance, and availibilty since more than one year in europe, and since several month in the USA, buy a funsonic!

Bob,

That's incredibly cool stuff. Now we just need someone to design a Cessna Caravan on floats or a Pilatus PC-12[&:]

What about a Twin Otter? Or a Texan II? Or a Tucano? You know some dude in Germany is going to try a C-130 eventually!

That's for a different power level than we are talking about.

Why don't you worry about your Funsonic stuff, from what I have seen they need all the help they can get.
