HI, Im not Sure if u know but the Gyro/ mixer/ speed controller shoul be mounted horizontlly with so u can read the GWS correctly. or u will not get the correct opperation. U should start with both set to 0 and adjust them according to the responnse that u want the heli to have.
HOpe this helps

find the spot where the gain is neutral. it means when you're flying it, the heli won't turn clockwise/counterclockwise (relatively neutral). the neutral spot will be a variable, meaning at different speeds, height, conditions... your heli won't stay always neutral... at least it will be close to neutral... so find the best spot that suits you best....

the setup will affect how much control you want over the amount of changes you put to the tail motor. some people want a very responsive tail and some want a more relaxed response... u can change it there

the most totally neutral spot will be shown by the leds response... if it's neutral... the led will light up orange (or a combination of red and green/ or a flashing of red and green)....

hope i didn't get it mixed up between the gain and setup..... hope this helps a bit.... for others... correct me if i'm wrong...

My Gyro is mounted the exact same way on my DragonFly, comes that way from the factory.

mine comes that way as well on my DF. I do notice that the gyro senses forward/aft movements also!
But I have not tried FFF to see what effects this does...

The setup dial shoudl be in the middle(tune it so that both red and green LED are on). This dictates that the gyro is not changing the rudder signals(neutral setup position).

As for gain dial, this is a user preference. I have mine about 70% clockwise.
