robart struts
hey could some of you guys put some pictures up of your robart struts assembly. I have a gp pt-19 and im getting to that part now, I just want to make sure i get it right i know to cut the gear wire for the strut and put flat spots on the wire where the set screws attach the struts to the landing gear wire but with my wheels, i have two socket head cap screws for each side, i was thinking of the socket head cap screw, washer, wheel, spacer, and then thread the socket head cap screw through the strut, and finally attach a nut to the back of the strut, then cut excess of the screw off flush with the nut. any help is great thanks mike

Not sure exactly how you were planning to run the screw through the strut, since the gear wire goes down the middle and you can't possibly drill through it...
The first problem that comes to mind is clearance in the retract frame. Screwheads or nuts on the outside of the Robart strut will hit the retract itself.

the struts i have are the one for the pt-19 they are fixed gear, the struts just slide over the landing gear where the set screws hold the struts to the wire. my problem is the assembly part of the wheel the instructions do not cover that. the struts i have are set up at the bottom where there is a threaded hole for the socket head cap screw to go through. I just did not know process of assembly for the wheel thanks for help mike

Ahh... okay. The strut should have come with an axle and a third setscrew that goes into the bottom to hold the axle.
The axle is the same diameter as the hole in the bottom of the strut, with a flat cap like a nail head.
