I would not consider plain untabbed unsolderable cells for your plain alkaline cell holders, because an alkaline cell is 1.5 volts, so 4x1.5 = 6v. But Ni-Cads and NiMh's are 1.2 volts. So 4x1.2 = 4.8 volts for your equipment. So that equals decreased performance. I think getting a preassembled 5cell nicad or nimh pack would be better.

uum still there not solderable and you have to take them out every time to recharge them in a special charger, assuming that the batteries are NiMH, if they're nicad, im not sure, PLUS does it only run for 15mins?
