Default HB Tailboom Struts

Is anyone running their Hummingbird without the tail boom support struts? If so are you having trouble with the boom flexing or breaking. I keep cracking the struts from their mounts and gluing them back on, and was just wondering if they were actually needed.

I'm not using the struts and I have jet to break a tail boom. The hummingbird flies great without the support (mine does).

The supports seem to be more for looks than anything else...

Hey guys, I think your right about the boom supports being for looks, I keep glueing mine back tho. I keep thinking if they broke, there must be some stress on them. Without them maybe that stress gets passed to something else. I even replaced my boom and support bracket with tail stabilizer [looks also] which gave me new boom support holders. After I learned to fly with out crashing hard like I did when I started. Hot glue was fast and effective on the repairs. Check out this up grade kit on ebay, Its all aluminum!
