Sung has one, but it's not the YA Cockpit, it's someone else's and I really really liked it. That's what we're going with on ours. Maybe Sung will chime in cause I can't remember who's cockpit he used.

Bud

I used the Air Magic F 15 cockpit kit. Although it was highly modified for the Yellow kit. The tub was made out of balsa and only panels and instruments was used from the Air Magic kit. Everything else was shaded and formed out of balsa. Oh I did use the Air Magic pilot, but he no longer has an ass cause it was sanded down so I could close the canopy. I will try and post some pictures later.

Sean, glad you liked it. By the way nice looking F-15 you have.

Hey Sung, thanks for the info and the compliment. I walked into my LHS yesterday and met RYAN who said he's a friend of yours. He's working the shop here in Austin, I guess he moved here recently from out there. I told him that there was no way Sung could have a friend as nice he was, but he insisted..........

We've got a lot of detailing to work out on this F-15, but WOW, what a great flyer and worth the effort. Anyone have a website where I can get the AirMagic Cockpit?

Sung, are you using the YA soft tires? If not, what did you go with?

Sean, you da man, now I don't have to go take any pictures tonight. I would have probably forgotten about by the time I get home anyways.

As for Ryan, his only a friend cause he is so nice. Most people won't give me the time of day. BTW ask Ryan to cook up a pot of chili, he's a great cook and not bad behind the sticks as well.

Air Magic try this http://www.airmagicmodels.com/

Sean, I forgot about the tires. I am currently using the soft Yellow tires. When I run them into the ground I will start shopping for replacements. Any suggestions?

Sung, I'll make a recommendation on tires at a later date. I'm with you, let's run through what we got, however, I'm going to preempt and buy something soon to try. I'm hearing BV's T33 tires and possibly their whole brake assembly as well. I don't really care as long as I've got something reliable. I've got a new set of Intairco Tires I'm gonna look at a little closer later this week. I'll keep you posted.

I'll get on that Chili, sounds great!!

Yellow will have the cockpit and pilot in stock by Toledo. See them at www.just-the-pits.com.

Sean, et al,

Don't waste your time or money modifying a different brake system to the Y/A scale struts. The brake system it uses is a BV patented one, and it works absolutely just fine. The tires, while mine actually are seeming to last just fine, are another story. Those I'd prefer to have a solid rubber one. I think some people have heard the bad press about the large F-18 brake system, and are assuming that all Y/A wheels and brake systems are the same. They're not :-)

Rojeck,

Sweet looking cockpit.

A few questions - Do you have any pictures of the canopy rear deck? Does the black instrument shroud come with the kit too? Any pictures of the vulcan cannon barrel detail?

Thanks,
Mark

Unless tire wear is a problem or the softer tires are a problem, you may just want to see how the service life of the tire will last. Toe in/out will also affect tire life. Philip Avonds is very quick to point out that a softer tire helps absorb shock to the airframe and is easier on the equipment. Maybe tire life would be a small trade off. A thought.

Mark,

The instrument shroud that came with the Air Magic kit was too short and had to be extended with balsa. Also the rear canopy deck was made with balsa also and then coated with a thin layer of CA glue and sanded down then painted. I will try and take some more pictures of it later.

Tires, I think I will just wear the soft ones down first and then decide.
Sung
