Default li-poly vs. li-ion charger?

can you charge a li-poly battery with a li-ion charger? i was under the impression the only difference between the batteries is the cell casing right?

Do not use the charger! Unless they are referring to the input voltage, 12 volts would be for a 3 cell pack.
