I am wanting a giant Spruce Goose sea plane, but I can't find anywhere that has any. I talked to a member of the flying club I am in and he is almost a sea plane expert and he said that he thought he had heard of on that was radio controlled but he didn't know. If anyone has ever heard of where I can get one, please let my know.

I live less than an hour away from the real one. It's quite a pile of lumber. The construction details look like standard model practice but 100 time bigger.

What kind of power would you use?

scratch building a giant 81" one wouldn't cost any more than the Russian K-7 that I'm scratch designing and building. have been thru the origiinal Goose while it was in Calif. and it was awsome. also have 5 miles of bay in front of our house, to fly your model. when do I start scratch building it? dick

It depends on the size of the plane for what power I put on it. The flying club I'm in has a huge lake about 500 feet away from the flight line. It should be big enough to takeoff and land from.

I would rather fly a gas powered one, but electric would work.

My electric buddie is already looking at it, what power and battaries requirement for Giant size (+80"). I would rather not play around with 8 glow engines. I am also looking for good 3 vu's to blow up. for scratch building. if it looks feaseable, might be able to build a Southeren and Northern version. dick

Well since there is no kit of the Spruce Goose, where can I get the plans for one that I can build from them?

there was a group that built and flew a RC Spruce Goose and had a video shown on PBS, a couple of years ago, believe they were from someplace in Arkansas. was probably written up in MAN and RCM. dick
