New race maxx done, pics. 56k warning
I bought this truck in January, first tank of gas went through it tonight. I took some time on this one and did a lot of research for the right parts for what I wanted it to be. Here is the pretty much finished product. No body yet (lazy, didn't paint it yet). Only future changes will be swapping position on the battery and throttle servo. I lost the linkage to mount my servo where I wanted so it ended up in the stock location. 7lbs 4oz with no body, otherwise RTR so I am guessing 7 lbs 10 oz or so ready to race.

looks like TRX 2.5 with different cooling head to me. What cooling head would that be? What Chassis is that also? I just recently replaced my stock chassis with a Fast Lane Machine chassis, it's pretty light and seems like it's very strong...we'll just have to see how it holds up though.

Engine is a 2.5 with a mild port, Nova head, and sealed. Chassis and braces are from Dace manufacturing, the Shocks, shock towers, and fuel tank are SM, and the skids are Hardcore Ti, I think everything else is easy to figure out. Also a proline servo saver and controlling with a 3PK. Steering servo is a Futaba 9402, Throttle is an old JR 550 till my Futaba 9405 shows up, it was backordered when I got my radio gear for this truck and I tottaly forgot to order another until I started putting this together monday.

Nice truck! I couldn't tell from the pics, but with 4 shocks you can trim the rear lower shock mounts on your front arms and gain quite a bit more steering. Are you having to run any shock limiters?

I have not trimmed the rear shock mount yet, I am going to finish breaking in tommorow and then start tweaking. As of right now no shock limiters, I will try to get the complete setup done this week though.

All my RC's stay that clean, you should see my B4 and my 12L3, I don't see the point in putting over a thousand dollars into a race machine to let is rust, when its driven, its promptly torn down, cleaned, lubed, and re-assembled. And nope, the pics are too big, I couldn't even put two in one post.

nice truck,
why did you go with the standard chassis over the predator? ive been thinking about getting the predator, and am looking for some opinions.
