Default Zip ties on cooling head?

Ever seen an engine cooling head with zip ties in the holes on the top? I see that a lot and I have no idea what it's for, can anyone answer that for me?

So when you flip over the head doesn't get scratched

I'd rather have scratches than those silly zip ties

They are there so that if your car flips over, your engine head wont get all scraped up or dented. I have them on all of my cars.

Yea its a good idea, i just match the colors of the zipties with the engine head color so it doesnt look all fruity.

me and all of my friends use the zip tie head savers. i'd rather have a couple of warty looking zipties than some nice silver gouges on the head of a $2-500 engine.

I made a rollcage for my HPI SNR to protect the head from that. It looks way better too.
