How to attach a cowling. Rubber washers.
Go to the local hardware store and they are called "Fender" washers made of neopreme. Get the smallest ones you can find. Use a little metal washer over the rubber washer and screw it down. It really grips the fiberglass well. Someone said to use the servo grommets but they are too soft and just deform under pressure. The rubber washers from the hardware store don't deform nearly as much and you can tighten the screw as hard as you want (well not too hard or it will strip).
The metal screws will eat away at the fiberglass cowling from vibration without the rubber isolation.

I used some small diameter rubber hose on my UCD 60. I just cut them about 1/4 inch, slip them in the cowl halfway, and CA from the inside. The hose cushions all the way around the screw, and the little bit sticking through the airplane side dampens vibration from the airframe.

I do this as well as use Nylon bolts. It works very good.
You can paint the nylon bolts to whatever color you want.
