Question about mounting tires
Sorry for such an elementary question, but I'm new to R/C cars and I want to make sure I do this correctly. I know I need to use thin CA to bond the tires to the wheel rims, but do I need to glue the foam insert to the inside of the tires? And if so, what kind of glue should I use? Should the tires and the wheels be washed beforehand?
Thanks again for your help.

RE: Question about mounting tires
The foam insert does not need to be glued. Just the tire to the inside rim. I usually wash the tires with a soap solution before I apply the CA, just make sure they are dry before applying.

RE: Question about mounting tires
If you don't have much experience glueing tires, I would use a thick tire glue. Using this type of glue will allow you time to set your bead correctly and fix any mistakes you might make. Thin glue dries very quickly and if you don't know what you're doing, things will get out of hand. I use team losi tire glue, I use the thick for glueing tires to rims and thin for spot glueing. Sometimes after you glue tires and use them you'll find little sections where the tire has pulled away from the rim, the thin glue fixes this quickly. I use denatured alcohol before I glue my tires, it removes the shipping protectant in the tires and allows for a good bond. Hope this helps.

RE: Question about mounting tires
Ok, I'm having another small problem. How exactly do you mount tires on the wheels anyway? It takes a considerable amount of effort to pry them on, and I'm concerned that the tire's foam is getting bunched up underneath. How do you guys deal with this problem?

RE: Question about mounting tires
They are just your standard 26mm HPI wheels, with touring tires and foam inserts. I'm not so crazy that I need to balance them, I just want to make they're not lumpy and wobbly.
