Going to Hong Kong - want to buy a heli
Hi there guys. I am new to this site.
I have always been interested in RC. I own a Kyosho Nitro Car, but I would like to start helis.
Funnily enough I am going to hong kong shortly, and I know they are they sell lots of the electric helicopters. i have been browsing the we, and I have found these are the main electric helicopters they stock. I am sure you have had this question hundreds of times, but searching I found so many different results, alot of which were not related.
here are the helicopters:
JABO R/C Helicopter
CLC Concept Type II Thunder Bird R/C Helicopter
Micro Sky-Hawk R/C Helicopter
XRB Mini Dragon - Lipo RC Helicopter
FEDA D5 Dragon Fly Helicopter
Smartech Aero-Hawk R/C Helicopter
I really hope you can help. I am really looking for a good quality helicopter, one that you can upgrade and parts are easy, easy flight for beginners etc.... Also, how fast do these go..?
Also, do you operate these from the control like you would operate a nitro one. Or are they completely different.
Regards,
Josh

What are you talking about... lol... are you talking about rc car or rc helicopter, if you're talking about rc helicopter then speed shouldn't even matter... in rc helicopter, it all about stablility and flight time.
On the list you give out... and you said you want quality helicopter, something to learn with...
JABO R/C Helicopter
CLC Concept Type II Thunder Bird R/C Helicopter
Micro Sky-Hawk R/C Helicopter
XRB Mini Dragon - Lipo RC Helicopter
FEDA D5 Dragon Fly Helicopter
Smartech Aero-Hawk R/C Helicopter
I suggest none of this...(just stating what I think is the fact, more of a opinion I guess)
But if you really want something to learn.. I think the Corona is best, Lite Machine Corona... No other helicopter can do this can it?
http://www.litemachines.com/Crashes.wmv
I myself bought the smartech aerohawk as a first...(fail)
Again, bought a Kyosho Ep Concept mid size heli... (Did ok, but to risky to learn how to fly high)
One last time, and im buying a Corona, it on it way here...
I would had bought the Corona if I SAW that damn video in the first place.
(*one more thing, the Corona is a driven tail which give you more tail power and no PROBLEM like the micro one... you can do some more research... hahahaha and believe it you will find tons on those)

RE: Going to Hong Kong - want to buy a heli
I would like to fly it out doors abit, in the back yard, above the house.....
I am only a beginner and do not want o spend a lot of money.
Do you know smartech's website by any chance?
Where is the corona built?, oh and, can you fly it in the wind etc?
problem - it is only 5-7minute flight time, and I am sure it takes ages to charge

RE: Going to Hong Kong - want to buy a heli
got me hummingbirdVII. love it since it's first flight..
have made friends with the wall, the dog, oh,! and his favorite===the concrete warehouse.
all i broke which kept me grounded was a $3 rotor link![which i should have stocked]
i was hovering[after RADDS instuction] in 2 days..just add into your budget the folowing.
CRASH KIT
SPARE ROTORS
MOTORS[2- OR 3 EACH]FOR BOTH TAIL AND MAIN
SPARE BATT.PACKS...
if i went to upgraded tail and main motors, and got lipo-cell batt from the get go,
it would have made learning much easier as flight time is WAY longer with these.
well lipo is done charging, time to go meet the tree!!!!!lol!!!

When I do save up enough money, I was was thinking about an MS Hornet. I was an ad on RCU for the Corona; said it was made in the USA. I'm interested but I haven't heard much about them. Are they fixed pitch ?
