Default V-1 buzz bomb or Feisler 103

I have a V-1 That I built about 2 years ago I have flown it on a K & B 20. It flies fine with that motor but I would rather go with electric due to all that K&B hanging out of the plane. Like I said it flies fine on the Glow 20. It wieghs about 3.5 lbs and has a 48" wing span and is about 60" long.
Can someone tell me a good set up for this with electric. I have been looking at AXI motors and Li-poly batteries.....Am I headed in the right direction????

Thanks Ty

I thought it might be fun to build a V-1 and planned to make it electric but have done nothing to date. If you will give me you wing area, weight without your engine, fuel and anything else you will not need for electric. I will use MotoCalc to estimate what might work for you. Did you build the V-1 from a kit or plans?

I am looking building a new one at a 54" wing span with about 500 Inches in wing area. The airframe only will be about 3.5lbs. This would be 1/4 scale.

I have a 42" wing span right now and it is 3.5 lbs. with engine ready to fly. Its a good flier. The easiest would be to use a set up with a folding prop( look better) I don't know about electric ducted fans??

If you can keep the weight down (3.5lbs) there are numerous combinations of batteries, props and motors that will fly your large V-1. I have picked one I am familiar with and maybe the lowest cost.

Motor: EndoPlasma (car motor) $20
Controller: Great Planes C-50 $50
Gear Box: Great Planes 600 $12 plus 4.6:1 gear $5
Battery: Sanyo HR-4/5FAUP 10 cell pack about $45 at cheapbatterypacks.com

Estimated Stall: 25 mph
Level flight: 32
Max: 52 mph
Flight time: 10 mins at level flight (more or less depending upon throttle management)

This is a system designed by Gary Wright http://www.gwmp.net
Gary is the source for the 4.6:1 gear you would need.

I have not heard or read much good about electric ducted fans.
