What nitro content for a YS80st
Most use 30% heli fuel, although some run YS 20/20 with good results. With the hotter weather now upon us, sometimes lowering the nitro content makes the engines a little happier.

I remember when the engine first came out guy's started to use 20% instead of 30%. I heard that the engine was pre-denonating on the 30%.

Any fuel will pre-ignite if you run the engine too lean. I think most of the problems early on were related to running the 80 with the wrong gear ratio. The recommended ratio is between 8 and 8.5 to 1. 30% presents no problems.
