Default Electric Motor Questions

OK, bear with me a moment. I've got a stock motor in my 4X4 stadium truck and would like to upgrade the motor and get an electronic speed control.
I've notice that the lower the number of turns/winds as well as the higher the number strands wound (IE. single, double, triple wound) the higher the cost. (Being an electrician I should know the hows and whys but I thought I'd ask the people who use them.) A brief explanation would help me a great deal.
I'm currently looking at the Novak Rooster and a 17 turn double wound ball bearing motor. Good match?

Thanks for any help,
Jeff

just to let you know you cant run a revesible speed control for races! but yeah that setup would work but why don't you try a p2k2 pro motor and a novak explorer 2 that would be great cause speed controllers with no reverse just brake add speed to your motor and have less response time!

nrctc3, thanks for your response. The Rooster does have a 'reverse disable' function if I decide to race. Currently I'm just messin' around with it.
The Trinity add in TH just answered my previous questions regarding turns and winds while looking up the P2K2 motor.
