hey...i have two guys interested in trades for either...the h-bird has a remote and the piccolo doesn't but which is a better flying...more crash resistant heli...there both same as new..pro built choppers

oh also..the h-bird comes with two li po packs and chargers..and the piccolo comes with lots of factory replacement parts...but not hop ups...the piccolo also has carbon fiber blades...

Are you already an experienced heli pilot? If not, hold off on the CP until you have learned to work on and troubleshoot the simpler FP versions. Oh, and learn to fly.

well thats the reason i am a little more interested in the h-bird...it comes with a FP head thats never been used...my uncle is a heli pilot and he thinks either would be a great heli to start on with his help

j/w...but from what i've been told from many fellows at my lhs they say that the CP's are a lot easier to fly then FP's...do you agree with this...oris the reason you have negative thoughts about it becuase of setup...j/w...i'm looking for input...thanx

Oh, all reports are that a properly set up CP heli is easier to fly than a properly set up FP heli.

BUT - before you can be a successful micro heli pilot, you must learn to be a successful micro heli mechanic.
CP helis have a higher requirement for accurate setup. More adjustments, tighter tolerances. Troubleshooting on a CP machine has more variables than on a FP machine.
So, setup issues indicate that a FP machine is better for a beginner.

ALSO - you will crash. Micro helis are twitchy, challenging beasts with a steep learning curve.
CP helis have more complicated mechanics. This directly translates into fragility. The CP mechanics are more likely to break in a crash than the FP ones. And the CP mechanics are more expensive to replace. Blades - My FP machine has made hundreds (thousands) of crashes (and a few inverted landings). I have broken just about everything on the heli, but never blades. The FP blades are so much more robust than the CP wooden blades. I don;t know about CF CP blades, but I would not think that they would survive the punishment that I know FP blades can take.
So, cost issues indicate that a FP machine is better for a beginner.

Start out with FP. Learn to set up the heli with the simpler mechanics. Learn to troubleshoot vibration and power problems in a system with less variables. Learn to hover on a heli that can take crashes. Lean to fly side in and nose in. Learn to fly circuits. THEN consider taking on the additional challenge that CP offers.

hey...thanx vince for the informative reply...much appreciated...i am going t go with the humming bird...it has a FP head essembly and blades included and i'll swap them out until i get aqainted with the flying charactistics of the heli...then when i get a little more advanced switch the head back over......unless i'm missing something and the extra FP head won't mount onto the h-bird elite...it should buti better check first...thanx
