The Evader ST can be setup for onroad and offroad, so both worlds are covered there. The Mini-T is fun to play with but if you ever decide you want to race you might be out of luck if your local track doesnt have a Mini-T class.

So you have a set price range eh? How much more do you have to spend? You'll need a charger no matter what, but mini-t batteries are cheaper than full size.
Also: the evader and dephi can run as they are, just buy a cheap matched pack online(most LHS have ridiculous battery prices, buy direct from a matcher-not from tower) you'll need a motor eventually no matter what you get, and the mini-t motors are a little cheaper.
The mini-t, on the other hand, needs a bunch of stuff to really be raceworthy, in order: bearings, real shocks, ball diff. with those, it should handle as well as the full size trucks.
The delphi needs really smooth pavement, hard to control on rougher parking lots, but it's really light and therefore really fast.
The evader I love: the recent generation is very strong (don't buy an old used one), it has all the racing hardware you need for much less than the losi, and can handle great.... of course, race hardware can be a downside. The very simple delphi has nothing to set wrong.
Do take time to learn how to set up your suspension, the out-of-box settings on the evader suck, but adjustments are free, just ask here if you need advice....
Giving the mini-t the handling the evader comes with would make cost more than the evader, but I plan on getting one when I have the money free. There is a $139 brushless setup for the mini that is stupid fast.

i have the evader bx, and its a blast. duratrax stuff is really the way to go if you are on a budget, just make sure you got parts support in your area - this is THE major consideration. go for the evader, its much more versatile

How can you mod an evader st into an onroad car
