Default How To On Aerohawk

Hello, I'm a heli newbie and I just got a used aerohawk. The thing is in good shape and I'm putting it together. One question, the previous owner has the tail motor off. How do I attach it to the boom? CA? Screws? Oh ya, one more question, where the heck does the battery mount? Any help would be great.

the motor hooks to the tail motor mount . It should have a piece that sticks down that has two holes in it. It screwes into this motor through this mount. Make sure not to have the gearmesh too tight or too loose. The battery mount hooks to the skids. It just hookes over each side of the front skid legs.so it hangs under the chips...any more info needed I can help...e-mail me if you want.

the battery holder is different on an aerohawk. I have both kinds of helicopters.....jabo and aerohawk. The tail is identicle beside the way the prop hooks to the gear. On out feda ones it useslittle studs that go through the gear holes. On aerohawk it has a spot molded on the gear that it slides in. I like the feda one better. You can add this if you ever wanted...pretty easy.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help. Mine came with a direct drive motor so there is no gear or pinion. I figured out the battery mount and epoxied the tail motor onto the boom. That doesnt seem like the right way to do it so, I will go to my LHS and look for some tiny short screws to mount the motor to the boom. I did get it flying. It took me 2 batteries to figure out that you need to just punch the throttle and get it in the air. Oh ya, this may be a dumb question... What way do you mount the tail prop on? I tried it with the letters out and all the thing did was spin in circles. With the writing towards the motor it hovered easier? Is that right? thanks

Use nylon ties to fasten a battery holder around the front struts so it won't come off so easily.

Well, I really appreciate all the help. I was flying this thing for hours yesterday. I can hover it on a full battery pack charge now. I did find tiny screws at the LHS to mount the tail motor on. Now, this thing is great!! One problem though... when I was at the hobby store finding small screws, I found a shogun!!! You know what happens next... I bought everything I need but the gyro. I will practice on the aerohawk for a while then move up to the shogun!

I guess you're trying to get the remaining part of the Tail boom out of the main airframe

I'm told you can 'crack' the glue by heating it up - i tried a hairdryer on mine but no joy
Also tried Super-Glue solvent no luck there either

Eventually I gave up and got a new Airframe and tail boom (just bought some Carbon Fibre Tube & cut it down to right length, then shaved diametetr down until I got a very tight push fit) Have just put a blob of Hot-Glue on it to lock it in place
