Good luck, Todd.
We've been lucky here in Houston. Haven't had one since Alicia in 83.

I feel for you!
You should live in a solid concrete house with electric roll-down window shutters of metal, so when the hurricanes are coming, all you have to do is press a button (on the 10x off course) and the windows are sealed off..

I'm glad we don't get weather like that here.. although it would be kind off exiting to experience such extreme weather once...

Thats got be be pretty scary stuff... up here in the woods of Northern Ontario we dont get any weather like that (no bodies of water nearby) but of course you have to live with the "3 month" flying season...

Good luck to you...

My offer was from the heart. Pack up what you think you need and head this way. Between three houses (two vacant), we have room for your two cars and your rolling Hangar. Not to worry about accomodations. Three available bedrooms. Just head this way and call us to let us know you are inbound to North Port. Regards, Eric

All I want to do is fly my new SM F-15. Ive been waiting for months now. My JR servos were back ordered...now they will finally be here but Florence isnt going to help me out! I had a P-70 for it that I was going to use...but I decided to spend the money and buy a new P-120 which should be here tomorrow. Well, I waited this long...whats another week?

Well Todd

I remember one night that you told me that you would not be hit, by another one in 40 years. And that is was safe to move, to Florida....well that 40 years sure went fast....

Hang in there....

A thing that puzzled me when I visited Florida, is the buildings there, using lots of glass, wood , drywalls and plywood ceilings. How could people build houses with this kind of materials having to cope with this hurricanes almost every year? nor to say about pre-fab houses so light that can be transported already assembled by truck...

Hey Todd,
move up here, no worries about hurricanes, crime or even ants biting the sh%$ out of you. The best part is you have 5 months to build and 7 months to fly!

Good luck Todd and to all my Jet buddies in FL!

Johnny and Todd, good luck. We are battening down the hatches here in Jacksonville too.

I told my wife that if we had to evac, I was taking the trailer. She asked if we were going to stuff it full of belongings. Am I crazy to think my Jets have first priority? She thinks I am.

Fortunately, the trailer is big enough so I don't have to tell her she might have to stay behind. K.

Worse still, its heading near the Cape. The Discovery is poised for America's return to human space flight in March '05. Let's hope that is not affected as well as all of the folks in that area of Florida.

Round 1 for me

Hello out there I am from the islands of the bahamas and located on the island of New Providence the capital Nassau.

Currently we are experiencing light winds with dark and clouds.
Scattered rain fall.

Temperature upper 70's to 80's

The southern end of the isalnd has been evacuated.

We are expecting sea swells of 15 feet high

This is the worst hurricane ever

The worst is , if it cant get over The Ggreat Bahama bank it will stay there and continue to increase in power until it can break free. Makes it even more dangerous, then she is slower moving.

Check below here for real time with animation
http://weather.msfc.nasa.gov/GOES/

My island is the little dot just before Andros to the right (21 miles * 7miles)
Andros being the largest island of the Bahmas
