Default Great Planes Cap 580

I notice they are advertising the new Great Planes Cap 580. What I don't like is that the advertised weight could be between 29-32 pounds. Isn't that just about 4-5 pounds too heavy to be a good 3D plane with a 100cc engine?

I think that plane is about 5 or more pounds heavier than it should be.

Let's see what the customer aircraft weights turn out to be.

That is just to much money to spend on a plane that is heavy by the specs. If it follows the norm it will be 3 # more when finished.

Worse still, they suggest a 4.2 as the lower engine size. I can see a lot of the newbies buying the plane and going for the smaller, cheaper engine. Shortly after the first shakey take off there will be a lot of peices on the ground.

29 to 32 pounds is really heavy for a 35% plane, let alone a 33%. It should be re-named "Miss Piggy" if it actually comes in at those weights.

A lot may depend on the engine used.
Some of the engines that tower sells are heavy.
