Default engine size for stinger 120

I would like to know if anyone could tell me the best size engine for a 120 stinger. Would a G26 perform well and would a G62 be way to much. Thanks wayne

Go with the G-45 and shorten the nose about 3/4 inch. A BME 50 gives unlimited performance also.

A 2.4 should be adequate power. I've seen one with a G-38 and it flew very well.

A guy in my club flies one with a brison 2.4 and it is awsome. It will climb vertical out of site and is very reliable. I am in the process of trying to buy the plane and engine from him right now. This is a good engine for this plane.

thanks for the feedback on the 2.4 engine , Thats what I wanted to hear. I had an old g38 on it with a spring starter and had to add a lot of weight in the tail of the plane and was not satisfied with the performance. thanks again for all the info. wayne

Get rid of the spring starter mechanism, will lighten the engine. The starter mechanism is not needed a G38 will flip start easily. On your question, The Brison 2.4 is excellent, hope you can find one available. Since you are set on gas, I won't try to talk you out of it. An alternative is a Saito 180 will keep the plane light and fly it well. I have seen a Saito 180 fly a workmate around a friends garage.

I guess the fuji bt 50 would have lots of power, but would be realy heavy. What I am trying to do is get the weigh down to at least 14 pounds. With the g38 it is 16 pounds and with the fuji it would be more. I have looked for a 2.4 and may go with a new one. thanks for the reply. Wayne
