Can anyone tell me how to hook up a direct drive tail motor for colco thunderbird and if sodering is required-Thanks

No sodering, although it would make the job cleaner. It should directly replace your geared motor. I tried the some thing but when last motor burned out, i think i shorted the electrics or something, cause i get no response from the tail now...
You will need to reconfigure your gyro somewhat to get back in the air
