P-80 Wont barely fit in the hatch. I had a P-70 fitted in mine. Fit was good and a lil bit less weight. More than enough thrust. I saw one fitted with a artes super bee at the az jet rally. Thing flew like it was on rails, quickly too! IMO, You could definetly go with one of the 14 pound mini's.

is a p80 overkill?
everyone seems to be running jetcat
thanks, chris

Hi Chris,
I have seen a P-80 powered BVM F-16, I would not recommend it, too heavy and not enough room for fule.

I've thought about this one for a long while, and after consulting with a jet jockey the P-70 is the best choice, with the latest version I think pushing 17 lbs. No way I would use a P-80 in it, too much power and too much fuel required.
Wren 54 is my second option.

RE: what turbine yellow f-16?
Nothing ruins a great flying jet like the Y/A F-16 than high wing loading. There are many nice 12-14lb. class turbines out there, e.g. Artes JF-50 Bee, JetCat P-60, Robart's Funsonic, Simjet 1200, PST 600R, FTE-500, etc. Also, turbine weight is only one of the factors to consider. Another factor is fuel consumption. The more efficient turbines will require less onboard fuel, thus less weight. Personally, I like the Aftes JF-50 Bee and the JetCat P-60 for your application. Good Luck!
