Default Colder Soldering Gun?

O.K. Guys, I need to see what you guys think of this tool. I am no way shape or form associated with the product, but I just ordered one to see if it works O.K. for R.C. stuff. I saw the infomercial and decided to bite. I can trust it for servo wire connectors and stuff like that but would it be worth even trying it on a control surface? Anyone got a meter than we can use to test the strength of a linkage to see where it pulls apart (inch oz. or pounds what ever)?

Junk ! I took one back to Home Depot for a refund. Won't even do a half decent job on 28ga servo wires. Sorry to rain on your parade.

Home Depot has had them on display for awhile. Thought several times about picking one up, but always wondered if it would work as advertised. Let us know when you get it. If it will heat up quickly to 800 degrees it should be fine for light wiring. Wonder about its caapacity to handle anything with any mass to it tho.

Well, I guess Lex answered that question while I was typing. Guess I don't have to wonder any longer.....................ed

I read a review on it on some news site. Seemed like a logical reason how the gun can heat up and cool so quickly, but I didn't buy one as I was skeptical.

I use a Master Torch for all my soldering, no reason to switch.

Turbulence- DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I also bought one at Home Depot. It is very poor
for any kind of soldering. I should have read the package better. When it said "uses 3 AA
batterys", I should have known then. I also returned mine.
