flatting PPG clear coat
Has anyone used PPG DX685 added to clear for flatting. I got some from my local PPG dealer and he provided ratios for mixing
a 'dead' flat clear. After spraying the plane, it has a 'frosted' look??
The 685 appears to just be reducer and some kind of powder.
What is the key to making this stuff look right?
Thanks

Hi W.G.
Here is a link to the 'P' sheets for PPG. It will show you all of the ratios for different degrees of flattening for the DX 685 (semi-gloss, eggshell, flat).

I used it quite a bit before switching to DCC 2060. The 2060 is dead flat clear out of the can. The DX 685 is a pain, you can sand your original flattened mix and recoat it.
