Just don't mix the different brands of oil.
Other than that, they all will work!

I've been using Motul 800 and Redline two stroke motorcycle racing oils, mixed 75-1, for the last couple of years with no ill effects in a Brison 3.2

I just got my Brison 3.2 in the air and really like it. I have been using Amsoil "Saber Professional" full sythetic. It's a 100:1 oil and the local ultralight pilots swear by it so I figured it would be good.....well, some of the gasser flyers at my field have told me that it's "too slick" for a break-in oil and that the rings might not seat correctly. They recommend using a petrol based oil (lawnboy was mentioned) for the first gallon - then switch to the Amsoil.

Is this bad advice ? Should a different oil be used for break-in ?

I thought I was doing good by seeking out the high zoot oil but now they have me wondering ?

Thanks, Eric

Go ahead and run the synthetic. It won't hurt anything, and if the full break in is delayed a little, where's the harm? Looking at it another way, you should have fewer concerns about cylinder scuffing using the synthetic instead of the natural oil.

BTW, I just started running a brand new Brison 3.2 and using the Redline synthetic for the break in. Since my other engine works so well after 300 plus flights, why change now? I'll be breaking in the Brison 6.4 the same way.

I use the redline to. I mix 50:1 in my two 3.2s and no prob. Have had them for about 3 years. Going to get another one for my Aero-works ultimate and I am going to break in the same way. I don't see why you should have to change oil just for break in. I didn't and my engines run fine.

I have many gallons of Amsoil 100:1 in all my Brison, as well as other gas engines. About 90% of the pilots at my field use Amsoil 100:1 and there have been zero failures in the last 5 years that I know of.
