Transavia PL-12 Airtruck/Skyfarmer
Seasons greetings to all,
Has anyone built or know of someone who has built a 1/4 scale (120 inch) PL-12 airtruck?
I have one on the board at the moment and was looking for someone who has built one to bump heads with I found the following page with lots of photos of construction:

Hi Den sure I can help,
No I didnt draw my own plans.
They are available from NewZealnd areo products, Stirling Point, Bluff.
Consists of 6 sheets also available as a short kit I believe (timber products, fibreglass cowls etc)
I have 2 sets of plans, 1 for building/wrecking the other for keeps.
I aquired almost all the balsa/spruce from someone who started but lost interest for $20 so it was a good score as this thing is eating wood like you wouldnt believe!
I will be fitting a Ryobi 31cc with a larger than stock carb swinging an APC 20x8. Some may think it's over propped but the bigger carb has made it quite stroppy also I have opened the reed valve by another 1/8th of an inch from stock and dropped the jug by the thickness of the cylinder gasket to up the compression a tad. Using magneto ign for now.
This thing has a LOT of wing area so it will fly on the wing and not power.
Projected weight is 20-25lbs so power to weight will .5 to 1 which in my experience is acceptable.
I have spent the last 3 weeks in the shed on this and have 2 booms with elevators and rudders fitted, the stub wing and 2 wings ready minus the top sheet and I'm starting the pod tomorrow, all built up construction to keep it light.
If you or anyone has an interest in this build I can post some pics.
This aircraft is quite unique as it is butt ugly and rare, it also operated here in NewZealand in the topdressing role during the 60s,70s,80s. I think only about a hundred were ever built.
It has an operating hopper so you can drop super phosphate (fertilizer) etc has around a 4 litre capacity.

Gary I did a google for Aero prod and didn't find a web site could you give some more info on where to get the plan.
I am working on a Pzl 104 Wilga plan but thats going sloow and the Airtruck is another Ugly Duck I would like to build.
Got a bit to go on my current prodject http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/upfi...76/Tr50964.jpg then on to the next.
I'm also glad to see your doing the engine conversion prodject too I'm putting a Poulan 42cc in the Cessna lots to learn a good fun too.

Thats some nice building you've got going on there.
These plans were purchased some 10 years ago so I don't know if they are still in business but their designs are popular even now.

15 years on. This took just under 2 years to build from scratch. The kicker is 2 were built on the same board concurrently. The other is for a friend. 142 inch, 120cc, 30 kg. More to follow soon....
