Default Toasted a LIPO pack last nite...why?

So the zoom is finally starting to come together and fly nicely. I was hovering it inside tonight and my kokam 3s1p 1500 mah (first time i used it in the zoom) only lasted 5 minutes hovering. I thought to myself "wow! that sucks i get more out of the stock li-ion protech 1600" and went to power everything down. Then i noticed the kokam pack had puffed a bit and was quite warm. Also a telltale sweet bubble gum smell to it on the puffed side.

So... why did this happen? I brought it down and cut power when the ESC 's low voltage LED came on (protech pro 20 xs esc). Also the li-ion 1600 battery hovered for about 12 minutes but was also very warm when done flying. much warmer than when flying it for 25 minutes in a piccolo.

Any ideas?

Try decreasing pitch to raise head speed.

Well the Shogun draws more amps than the Piccolo and that leads to more heat and what clem was trying to say was the more pitch you have the harder the motor has to work thus the Hot pack..
