Default Need to break 65+

Ok I want an engine that will get me over 65 mph. I have an RS4 SS and need a .12-.15 that is race legal and around $160-$200. I really really need to beat my friends 4-tec lol. Please post asap. Thanks

haha, nothing like bashing competitions

I would get a sirio .12 5 port. 1.6hp, 40000rpm, should get you somewhere around 65-70mph

Okay first off when you research your engine, don't go by the rpm rating manufacturers release. Manufacturers test their engines without a load, which is completely unrealistic. No engine is gonna turn 40,000rpm unless the gearing is so low, you're *****g out at like 35mph. But you'll probably be over-revving it. Assume no more than 35,000 rpm from your engine, which is right on the edge of being realistic. I personally assume an RPM of about 30k-31k rpm, and I calculate the gearing using that assumption.

I don't think HPI has the gears that will get you to 65mph. You will probably have to get custom gears made. If it were me, i'd get a Novarossi NS12S3 and gear it for about 28,000rpm. It'll have the torque to get you going, and the HP to get you there. You'll beat the 4-tec off the line and top end.

NS12S3 is $250...The only small block that might cost that much would be a JP Mod.

Regardless of the engine you use, you won't get to 65mph with the gears HPI has.

Cheaper way for ya to get to that speed is to get a cheap pan car, esc, 11T mod motor, gear it properly and have fun. Anyway don't bother with the manucfacturer stats. As it was mentioned earlier those are just assumptions. The Sirio won't pull 1.6Hp anyway. More like 1.45HP or somethign around that and prob do 38k with no load. For the price it's not bad, and it can get you to 65mph with the proper gearing. There are gears that can help you get to those speeds. Just shop around. I hit about 57mph with the stock gearing in my R40's stock gears running an MT12...before I ran outta room..LOL. With taller gears I can get to 60mph. Also with lighter parts I can get there faster too. Just remember at even 50mph the car will be so far away you will forget about your radio range. The last thing you want to do is hit something, someone, or have a run away. Find a place to run away from people, cars, etc to do so.

Hey dude, if you want a .12 to crest 65 mph, is asking a LOT and its isnt going to come cheap!!! A .15 is still going to be a serious challenge, but a posibility, with a HUGE parking lot, and a lot of carbon fiber parts to shed weight. Heres the hot ticket: Purchase an identicle colored .18 engine, and just slap on a .12 cooling heatsink!! Wham, you have a "sleeper" and will spank the pants off your unsuspecting buddy!! LOL

NO, you don't know what YOU'RE talking about. The fusion is advertised as an 80mph car with it's option clutchbell. It won't go 90mph. That engine JUST won't do it.

And a ct4s aint' gonna go no 80mph with the stock engine. I doubt any small block is capable of getting there. EVEN with a 3 speed. A 3-speed won't help any, it'll just add more rotating mass on the drivetrain.

oh and kwong that is a very stupid thing to say about the cen with rotating mass how the hell do u think centrifugal force works a system of weights and pulleys lol NO it just works off the arms flinging out at a certain rpm or if the spring is softer the earlier it will fling out
