Carden Extra 260 ugly?
Maybe it's just me but the Carden Extra 260 is not a very attractive plane.
I'm a Carden owner but this plane better have a good personality because it won't make it on it's looks.

I have the TBM (now Dalton Aviation) 42% Extra 260, and I agree that it is not a great looking plane, but I love the way it flies, and that it why i have one.

Hey islandflyer
Yours is a heck of a lot better lookin (scale) than the Carden.
Your cowl and canopy are much more scale.
Yours looks great.

Hello,
You guys are on the money. The Carden 260 is a rebirth of the Edge thats now an Extra 330 now its a 260. Nothing original about that. If I was getting a 260. Dalton Aviation/TBM is the right choice.

RE: Carden Extra 260 ugly?
The ultimate 260 was Von Linsowe's PMP kitted 35% Extra 260. It's old now and only available if you can find one, but it is the nicest looking Extra of any kind around. This design was stretched a bit resulting in a really nice canopy/turtle deck shape and has one of the nicest cowl shapes around. I finally pried my kit away from a friend who had been holding onto one for a while.
Here are some pics of the one finished last year.

I thought that Von Linsowe's 260 was the Von Extra, or 35% 260 later sold by Gene at TBM. That would the one now sold by Roman Scarfo of Roman Built Models.
Isn't that 35% the little brother of my 42%???
I know, those family stories can be confusing

The PMP 35% 260 is not the same as what TBM sold as the Von Extra, although it is a relative. It's similar, but it has a much diferent cowl and flatter sides. The original PMP kit had foam ribbed, fully sheeted wings (factory done) and a truss built fuselage with foam shaped parts on the front top and sides to achieve a nice curved shape that swept into the rounded cowl shape. There is no Extra short of Comp Arf that has these features now except for the PMP.
