Average engine temps
Well I finally broke down and got a temp gun. Now I'm in love with it. After about five mins of running I checked my engine temp for the first time and it was around 315-320....way too lean. Well after running a couple of tanks and gradually riching up the mixture I got the temps down to 285-295, after real hard running it may touch 300.
Is this where I need to be or not? The thing about it is that at the point where I'm at it seems that when I try to richin it up more it doesn't bring the deon any lower then where I'm at. I always pull the temp from the car after a really hard full speed run. Is this the proper way and time to pull the temp?

RE: Average engine temps
Yeah your doing it right.............and the norm is 250-280f max
I have run my engines at 320 but not for long..........and if its a savage HPI S25 nitro star you need to keep it 250-275 max
