I haven't flown a turbine F-4 yet, but I've built and flown 4 George Miller Phantoms (3 - single Dynamax / 1 - twin Dynamax). There are pics of 2 of them in my gallery. I've got a JMP Phantom that I'll be building for turbine power, one of these days.

Here's a couple of my BVM F-4E (photos by Gordon Dickens). Started out as a twin ducted fan in 1998 and converted to AMT Pegasus in 2000. Great airplane! Flys just like the real one...lots of power and a mean machine. I always fly with the tanks for visibility and they seem to smooth out the dutch roll tendency.

Scale Dail

Beautiful job... I've been thinking about the JHH F-4. How's the kit quality and how's it handle with the 60?

Thanks

I just got my f-4 from JHH like 3 weeks ago with the Wren mk3, beautifull plane. I just got a question for you. When joining the two wings toghether did you reinforce that part where the wood goes into the foam of the wing? Sorry for my english, don't know the exact names. I'm just worried about the wings holding up when making high G turns or other stuff.

Thanks,

Michel...

Steve

thanks for the heads up on the tires and brakes. their arrival will be just the right amount of push required to get my little A-4 finished.

The F-4 is awesome. much like surfing, I now understand the facination with the bird.

Vin'

Twin DF built by Joe Grice in '96.

Currently, JetCat Titan powered. aprox 25-26ish pounds. (can't remember exactly) working centerline drop tank, parachute and extending nose strut.

it also has a full complement of stores. 4 Sparrows 4 Sidewinders 2 napalm cannisters centerline drop tank and a pair of wing tanks. I'm looking forward to getting her airborne with the full monty. I'm sure it will look mean as hell.

The Titan is working great. 8+ hours of run time so far. Hasn't missed a beat. good throttle response overall. Takeoff roll was about 200 ' (rough guess) landing roll was a bit longer but manageable from my 550' strip.

how'z Memorial airport negotiations coming along. have you had a chance to go out there?

take care

Buck

Hey Buck,

How's the good life? I think you are living it. Can't get much better than flying the 1:1 Hornet and a BVM Phantom.

Here are a couple of pics of my Phantom with my son Paul with his award from the Hearne TX jet rally.

Buck,

Actually I believe that in real life the airplanes are the same one. The green camo was repainted with the air gray and in the 30 years scheme. The tail numbers are the same. The airplane is on a pedestal in front of Lindberg Field in St. Louis Missorri.
The AF# 68-338 SL 131st TFW Was flown by Jim Renschen and Don Boatright. Had two mig 21 kills I believe. Mine is Titan powered also, Awesome vertical and killer speed! Just ask David Reid as he is always BEHIND me! LOL.

thanks for the background info. cool stuff for sure. If David ever reads your comment he'll put the 200 in his just for spite!!! we'll have to play the Duke's of Hazard theme song as we leave him in the dust. LOL

I considered putting the 400 in it but only for a second. The titan is performing flawlessly so far.

glad you got the PM. hope you can make it out to So Cal one of these days.

Hi F-4 Fliers, I just got my JHH F-4, this is my first DF bird, the plan is to use a OS 91 with Dynamax Fan. I have not decided on the version C/D or the J model. Any suggestions?
