Default Replacement needle valve retainer

Recently I had the misfortune of breaking the tab of the needle valve retainer clip in my Rossi 45. I was thinking of using a spring hose clip and soldering a piece of piano wire to it as a retainer but I cant find a small enough hose clip . Any ideas? Tks

Why not just get some replacement clips ? I recently got some from my LHS for spares (ordered ) and they were about $.25 each.

Unfortunately the clip might cost me $10 by the time I pay shipping and handling !

I made one from a pocket clip off of a ball point pen. I found one at Wal*Mart that the clip slid on over the end. It might have been a mechanical pencil? Any way I was able to cut the clip shorter and bend a V into it. Works great. You might also try your idea with a Zip tie instead of a hose clamp.

I lost the clip on one of a .40 engine and I just replaced it with a metal wire. If you find one fine enough but pretty stiff, just take a pair of needle nose pliers wrap it around the base a few times and then bend an arc in it so that it touches the needle. It took me about 30 seconds to install and it works perfect and only required a piece of wire I found lying around.

Stretch a piece of large fuel line over the assembly. Holds tight and seals the needle from air leaks.

Woodbutcher's idea has worked for me. Has improved the run of some engines by forming a better air seal.
