Default What adhesives do I use

I am in the process of building a cockpit for a P40. I will be using a variety of materials which need to be glued together. I will be using ply, balsa, styrene I have no idea of how to glue styrene to balsa or ply. Any suggestions would be appreciated

If it is non structural then I would use 5 min epoxy. Although recently I have discovered gorrilla glue, so I probably would be using that, it's awsome stuff!

I've had good luck gluing styrene to wood with medium CA.

Nope. It may share some chemical properties, but it is a plastic unaffected by medium CA. Acetone will disolve it. Thin CA may disolve it as well. The adhesive that Plastruct reccomends is a acetone type solvent that bonds styrene to styrene very well. But, not styrene to balsa.

Whatever the case, you are looking at a mechanical bond. If it were me, I'd use polyurethane glue after scuffing the styrene with 80 - 100 grit. CA might fog what you don't want fogged.

Roger that. I think it is exactly the same from what I have read. I use the Elmers poly, and it costs about 1/3 less than Gorilla Glue. Great stuff, tough as nails, light, sandable...truly the 'ultimate' glue. Now if they could just figure out a fast dry formula...
