Things learned flying the rotofly
1. Get a dragonfly roto head. It dosn't break, sand the ball joints and it fits perfect. I experience it just pops off and dosn't do any other damage.
2. Use a tooth pick and glue the head bearings with a micro spec of ca to the roto head. After losing a few, you will know what I am talking about.
3. DON'T FLY WHEN THE WIND IS ABOVE 1 MPH OR GUSTING. Its not worth it.
4. Get a dragonfly flybar. Its about 9/16" longer and helps hovering a lot.
5.Get it off the ground fast. It pulls to the left. You can't stop it. Once off the ground it starts flying like a heli.
6. If a crash is going to happen,,, give left rudder and chopped throttle. (left thumb, down and left) It will stop the tail rotor and main rotor. This will save the motors and parts.
7.Have fun

RE: Things learned flying the rotofly
Heres a few more I forgot to post.
8. Put a piece of scotch tape along the bottom of the canopy. It will help stop it from cracking if hit.
9. Get a longer tail skid support. The replacements are longer and made to match the training gear. I don't know why they don't give you a longer one from the get go.

All heli's have shortcomings. Half the fun is making them better.

RE: Things learned flying the rotofly
More I didn't think of
10. Move the blades forward to get rid of the wobble. Line the trailing edge up with the screws that bolt the blades to the head. It will help.
11. This is a quote from the great planes tech when I had a problem with the gyro hunting.
Thank you for your recent email. Please find listed below, some tips
on about the Rotofly gyro that I hope this will help.
Top Screw, (Tail Rotor Mix)-
As you throttle up, and if tail motor comes on sooner and turns nose
to the right, then turn top dail counter clockwise so tail rotor motor
will not come on as quickly.
Turning tail rotor mix (top screw) clockwise, tail rotor motor will
come on
sooner.
Turning (top screw) counter clockwise, will let the tail rotor motor
come on later.
NOTE: If you cannot adjust out the tail rotor motor and the nose keeps
turning to the left you need a new tail rotor motor.
Gain Screw (Bottom Screw)
Make small adjustment when doing this adjustment.
If nose is hunting, adjust gain (bottom screw), clockwise or counter
clockwise, until hunting stops. If adjusted to much, heli will bounce
left and right. Turning gain clockwise to much, heli will want to hunt.
With battery fully charged battery and heli will not lift off, chances
are, the main motor will need to be replaced.
