Default My CA34% extra 300 pics

Ok here are the pics. I will be using 9 servos in this airplanes. All JR 8611's. Do I need some major power management system like a powerbox or something?

Youre getting real close to needing it. You may have a look at the one from Smart Fly or the Emcotec.
Trouble is that the switches and wire cant take but half of your load IMHO without some distribution.

Nice job on the plane I think its gonna be my next project!!

Looks great Anurag.

If you are using a 10 channel RX you absolutely will not have to use a powerbox or isolator /etc.
I would debate you would need that many servos either.

Most of us running that plane are using this setup:

JR 955S or 945S receiver (Standard PCM or PCM dual conversion)
2 8411 servos w/matchbox or one 8611 on each aileron One 8611 is fine on these very stiff ailerons.
1 8611 or 1 5955TG servo on Rudder using push-pull linkage (not pull-pull)
1 8411 or 1 8611 on each elevator half
1 digi-mini on throttle

You can of course, use more servos, but it would be a waste. In the configuration above you could fly advanced IMAC and most 3D. If you were planning on all-out freestyle (most people new to giants like to set up their planes to do radical 3D and freestyle but very few actually perform these maneuvers because of the cost / risk of crashing).

Keep in mind the basic setup above will allow a good selection of 3D moves. While this is a good airframe, it is not known for its strength and durability for abusive 3D (i.e. repeated full speed snaps, walls, blenders, etc) It is a light weight plane that has a great wing loading but you have to use some care as the tail is not super stong. It is a perfect IMAC plane.

I have a 31% that flies very well. I know several people who have the 35% and 38% versions as well.

Default RE: My CA34% extra 300 pics

Thanks for the advice DP. I am using a futaba 9c with a 149DP reciever. I have been debating about the single ailerons servo per wing issue for some time now. Infact I have my wings ready to accept both configs (I have 3 bays ready) Up until last week I was going to install single 8611's on the ailerons and the same on the rudder, however with pull pull. This was until a very experienced RC builder/pilot visited my workshop and cautioned me against using single per wing. Ofcourse he has no aerobatic flying experience, he is into scales. I dont know why I get myself in these situations that confuse me I would love to use single servos and keep things ultra simple. Just dont want to make a mess of the plane. I am not going to wring out the plane in any case, im still learning 3d, so I guess you are right. I must keep things simple, and go crazy when I do the 40% in the future

I am not a builder of any kind.......but if you gonna try in the 3d its best that you go in for the 2 servo per aileron setup !

cheers
