Default RCS140 gasser and OMP plane

Are any of the OMP planes suited to the RCS140 that will give unlimited 3D performance. I have one and am looking for something to put it in. My goal is no more GLOW.

Well that's an oddball size for our planes but there has been a successful G26 installed on the 65yak. Since the RCS140 is beam mounted it would be easy to install on a profile. I do not know the specs on that engine off the top of my head although I do have an RCS 180 which I like very much. Check the specs as far as all up weight and prop size/rpm numbers and then compare that to say the YS110 or .91 two stroke engines. Also compare to the G26 gasser. All this info should give you an idea if it would be a good candidate for the 65" Yak ARF.

Thanks Salmon, RCShowcase says 3D up to 11 lb, 16X8 prop at 8900 developes 15+ lb of thrust. All up weight with ignition muffler and battery is reported at 2.8 lb. Assuming the Yak 65 is 7 lb with a Saito 100 (1.4 lb) this would easly turn the Yak into 8 plus lbs. The power to weight is right on the mark for unlimited do you think the extra lb will hurt the flyability.

The extra weight will not hurt the 65" Yak one bit. The wing loading is among the lowest of all the OMP profiles and realistically you could probably add a lot more without hurting performance. I'm sure the RCS 140 woud be a much lighter setup than the G26 as well and we know that works. You may have stumbled on something here with the RCS140 engine. The beam mounting sure is attractive for profiles! If RCS recommends a 16-8 prop then you could probably also try a 17-6 or 18-6 and get better propwash.
