P-51 aerobatic?
Is the GWS P-51 aerobatic? I am debating the P-51 or the Fromosa. I want aerobatics and speed. What is the speed difference with the stock motor say 350C?

RE: P-51 aerobatic?
the p-51 on a 300 will not get over a loop with a NiMah battery (well mine didnt anyway). if it were to have a 350, it would but only in the first few minuits of your flight. it will role, fly inverted and do any other basic manuvers which dont require much vertical flight.
however a brushless set up would realy improve this model, you would have good/great vertical performance which allows your to complete many more manuvers.

sorry about second post. i have only seen the formosa with a brushless set up, it flew aerobatics very well compared to the mustang. over all the mustang will give you better speed where as the formosa will performe aerobatics better, after all, its what it was made for.

RE: P-51 aerobatic?
One of my more spectacular e-power failures was a Midwest Mustang 60 which I modified inseveral ways to make more aerobatic. It turned into a squirrelly, unstable beast that quickly self-destructed )-: Later, I read an article which ponted out that warbirds were gun platforms designed to be flown by teen-aged pilots with very little experience and therefore are inherently stable. I have since gone on to successfully build and fly several e-powered warbirds, but when I want an aerobatic plane I fly one that was designed for aerobatics not shooting. Go with the Formosa.
