40% Yak Test Flight
Hello,
I made a maidian flight today of my 40% Aerotech YAK . Plane has a DA150 on cans with a 32x10 prop and Futaba gear. After flying it for 10 min I checked for any adverse roll & pitch mixing needed nothing yet. Only 3% of aileron to rudder mixing needed. No pitch coupling. Awesome so far. It is a very different plane from my Extra. More drag but very nice to be able to slow down more.
Snaps were nice and tight where I stopped them., Harriers were very stable with all that wing area.. Landing was a crawl. I was getting scared I would tip stall it that slow. Didnt happen. I will have photos when I return back. Only 5 flights so far. Being an overseas contarctor is a pain!!
This is another winner guys. I can wait to fly it more when I get back.
Thanks
David B.

Hello,
The 150 flew it very well. My Plane weighed 40lbs 6oz. Its a big plane so I dont expect the weight to be much less.
Thanks
David

RE: 40% Yak Test Flight
Hello,
Balance was not too bad. I took my time placing everything first. Im about 1" behind the factory mark. My next Yak, Im going put a ZDZ 160 in it. I have one from last year that needs a home now. I can't wait to get more time on this plane. I think its the best plane Ive flown yet.
Thanks
David

Hello
The Velox was as well. But there is methods to all this madness. Having fun is the key. I never worry when I buy from them. They have great products, price, customer service etc. I think Aerotech, Carden and Extreme Flight have been the best smaller companys I have delt with to date.
Thanks
Dave

T.Bob,
From all your posts in here, you a hardcore Carden Supporter. Its funny how they have alot of planes, people buying them and photos showing up of them. Go blast somewhere else. I guess from the Website including, Futabas Veloxs are cleaning up. Give it a rest if you don't have anything positive to say. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_24...mpage_5/tm.htm

T. Bob,
Im very relaxed. But when comments are made like that, its sounds like a teenager. The companys out there of this size including Carden dont need this types of comments. If someone would have made this in a forum of a company your support, I know from your past posts in here you would have spoken up in defense/support. So I have this plane and only 5 flights and it so far has inpressed me as did my Carden Cap did a few years back. Im sure people want to hear and see better things than what you posted.
Thanks
David

Hello,
I see the post I put in here responding to T.Bob has been pulled. If this is the case I believe his should be as well for starting an unnecessary comminment (again against this company because he supports another) with no substance. I don't think I broke any forum rules in responding. I ask the moderator to respond.
Thanks
David

RE: 40% Yak Test Flight
T.Bob give it a break...I feel the same way about the lack of pictures. Remember its the flying qualities that sell the kit, by end of summer enough will be said to make a better determination. I like the 300.00 price difference over the Carden, Carden does have a good rep though. J-Tec is suppose to be coming out with a 40% sukhoi ARF this summer and hopefully a pak kit. That will be another one to consider as their 300l flies excellently.
So by mid summer I should hopefully have 3 manufactures to pic through and decide on weather a 40% Yak or 40%suki, I already have laniers to build so some of us are not in a hurry.

RE: 40% Yak Test Flight
Hello,
I spoke to John today. He will be releasing the Sukhoi SU26 in two sizes and the SU29 in both sizes over the next 5 months. Should be a great amount of choices.
Thanks

The 26 and 29 are the best looking of the Sukhois
The 31 is just overdone.
The looks of a Goldberg 26 blowup to 35% - 40% would be a killer. (it's the bow gear that looks so cool)
